Configure Oracle Virtual Manager

This is a part of the post of how to install R12.1.3 from a VM template.

OVM is a very de-normalised way of managing VMs very unlike desktop virtualisation like VBOX.

To get started follow the userguide:

qstart_flow

So what we will do here is:

  • Discover OVS
  • Create Server Pool
  • Create Storage Repository
  • Create VM Network
  • Create Virtual NICs

Discover storage is only needed when you use NAS.

Creating the virtual machines is in another post.
