Install Serva DNS server

This is a part of the post of how to install R12.1.3 from a VM template.

This step is only needed if you don’t already have a DNS server on your network.

I just installed this on the notebook where I also has the OVM running.

The DNS server is needed as when you create the VM for the apps layer you can only enter a host and domain name and not a IP number.

Download from here: http://www.vercot.com/~serva/default.html

Install and do this setup:

Change you settings in your control panel:

In c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts put:

192.168.1.110 hpserverdb hpserverdb.kentw.com

192.168.1.120 hpserverapps hpserverapps.kentw.com

Any address which is not in the hosts file will be lookup up via the gateway 192.168.1.1 which is your router.
